English winemaker launches two 2025 vintage still wines for bars and restaurants.
The Uncommon, the B Corp winemaker known for pioneering English wine in can, is entering bottle format for the first time with the launch of two new still wines, created with the UK on-trade in mind.
Launching in June through premium wine and spirits distributor, Enotria, the range includes two 2025 vintage wines grown on the North Kent Downs: Tempting Fete, a dry, pale English rosé made from Pinot Noir, and High Tease, a crisp, aromatic English white made from Bacchus and Chardonnay. The wines are distinct from The Uncommon’s existing canned range, developed specifically for bottle serve.
Both wines are presented in 750ml lightweight glass bottles, designed for bars and restaurants where bottle serve remains the preferred format. At 395g, each bottle is 28% lighter than a standard wine bottle, supporting The Uncommon’s lighter-footprint approach.
The winemaker has built its reputation by bringing English wine to new occasions through the can; with the new bottle, it is extending that mission into moments and venues where wine is expected to be poured, shared and served at the table.
Rooted in a love of English wine, the move reflects The Uncommon’s ambition to bring more people to locally made wine across more occasions, while staying true to its core principles of local production, regenerative viticulture, and a lighter footprint.
The names – High Tease and Tempting Fete – nod to British moments worth stretching out: the long lunch, the unhurried afternoon, the starter that can wait.
English wine continues to gain momentum, with still wine sales up 10% in 2024, according to WineGB, alongside increasing international recognition.
Henry Connell, Founder at The Uncommon said: “We built The Uncommon around premium English wine in cans because they fit modern life: lighter, lower impact and made for anywhere. But our ambition has always been bigger than format. We care deeply about English wine and want to bring more people to it by making it easier to choose local, whatever the occasion. Our bottles allow us to do that.”
Phil Norman, Head of Production added: “These wines come from the outstanding 2025 vintage on the North Kent Downs, with clean fruit, excellent ripeness and well-balanced yields. The kind of season you don’t get every year and a real privilege to bottle.”
Phillip White, CEO of Enotria, said: “We’re really pleased to be representing The Uncommon’s first bottled wines in the UK on-trade, alongside their existing canned wines, which have been so successful in the events space. Our customers are increasingly looking for new and exciting English still wines to add a sense of provenance and home-grown quality to their lists, and both of these styles offer excellent additions to our growing portfolio.”
Tempting Fete is a dry English rosé made from Pinot Noir. Pale, fresh and elegant, with notes of fresh raspberry, wild strawberry, soft florals, and a light, refreshing finish.
High Tease is a dry English white made from Bacchus and Chardonnay. Bright, aromatic and precise, with notes of elderflower blossom, citrus zest and green apple, and a clean, mineral finish.
Both wines are 11% ABV, dry, unoaked and vegan.
