As Great Britain’s viticultural industry grows, so does the number of local businesses geared up to provide growers and producers with specialist machinery, essential equipment and tailored professional services. To celebrate and showcase the sector’s supplier network, a new event for UK viticulture is being launched in July 2019.

Jointly organised by Vineyard Magazine and Grape Vines Ltd, Vine-Expo will be a free to attend, one day event, held on 11 July at what many consider to be the home of UK viticulture, Plumpton College.

The inaugural 2019 Vine-Expo show will focus on the supplies and services available to growers operating in the thriving English and Welsh viticulture sectors by showcasing the very latest machinery and equipment, as well as the myriad of professional services and supplies needed in the vineyard and winery.

“If you are passionate about the wine industry, then it will certainly be worthwhile attending this exciting new event in July next year,” said Karen Wheeler, manager at Grape Vines Ltd. “For some time now investment in UK vines has been on the rise. Although the industry still has some way to go, the awards and accolades that our wines are receiving shows how much enthusiasm there is in this country to grow quality fruit and produce exceptional wine, and the rest of the world is now starting to take notice. We are very excited about this new event that will showcase the industry and bring everyone together.”

Along with seminars on the day, which will include well-known and knowledgeable expert speakers, Vineyard Magazine will be hosting a wine tasting of the ‘top 50 most influential English and Welsh wines’ to give growers, wineries and interested parties the chance to try and compare the diverse array of wine styles which are now being produced across the UK.

“When it came to selecting the venue for the show our priority was to not only find somewhere which was convenient to get to for producers across the nation, but somewhere which truly symbolised the development of the industry,” said Jamie McGrorty, director at Vineyard Magazine.

“It made sense to hold Vine-Expo at Plumpton College because for a lot of vineyard owners, managers and winemakers it is where they started their grape growing or winemaking careers. It really is the heart of viticulture in the UK.”
