In the heart of the vineyards of West Sussex, the UK’s largest specialist wine retailer, Majestic, is opening its 203rd physical store in Haywards Heath. Situated in the hub of English Sparkling wine production, and with domestic vineyard visits on the rise, the new Haywards Heath store is expected to see record sales of the homegrown fizz sold within its first weekend – with hundreds of bottles due to fly off shelves – as part of a wider pattern of growth in the category.

The area is already home to some of the leading names of English Wine, including Nyetimber and Bolney – both of which will be stocked at the new Majestic store. Customers are invited to try a glass of English Sparkling for themselves, across the opening weekend of the branch.

Interest in visiting English vineyards has boomed over recent years, and more and more holidaymakers are choosing to visit wineries as part of a ‘Staycation’ – so much so that AirBnB recently added a “vineyard” option to their selections.

This new store opening will bring an additional five jobs to the Haywards Heath area. Majestic provides all new colleagues with WSET qualifications as one of Europe’s largest wine educators, to ensure they have the expertise in wine that sets the Majestic shopping experience apart. Majestic Haywards Heath will be headed by Johnny Vickers, Store Manager, with four years of experience in providing the best customer service experience for Majestic shoppers as he moves over from Majestic Bangor.

Located in a new residential development in the town centre of Haywards Heath, at the back of Waitrose’s car park, the store features all the recognisable customer experience benefits that Majestic is known for, including Tasting Counters, the Fine Wine offering and Click-and-Collect services. Additionally, the new store is serviced by electric delivery vans and has dedicated electric charging points in the customer car park, to help Majestic shoppers source their wines, beers, and spirits in a more sustainable way.

Majestic CEO, John Colley, said: “We’re excited to continue growing the Majestic estate, with the opening of our newest store in Haywards Heath, to bring more wine expertise to the already booming English Sparkling area. We’re confident that the new opening will provide a positive offering to the Haywards Heath community, helping residents to discover new wines, beers and spirits in a more efficient and environmentally-friendly way.”

Situated in the West Sussex heartlands of English Sparkling production, this site will become the retailer’s 203rd store, creating five new jobs in the area and managed by Majestic Bangor’s previous manager Johnny Vickers

The store welcomed its first customers, Alistair, Charlie, William, and Freya Cleg
