The UK’s wine tourism sector gains a major new boost with the launch of UK Vineyard Guide, a national digital platform designed to make exploring English and Welsh vineyards easier, faster and more inspiring than ever before.

Aiming to bring together over 1,100 vineyards from across England and Wales into a single, consumer‑facing resource, UK Vineyard Guide offers the first modern, comprehensive solution for discovering wine experiences nationwide.  Visitors can explore vineyards by region, access travel information, browse detailed listings, read editorial guides and begin planning wine‑led day trips, weekends and longer journeys with confidence.

From launch day on Friday 1 May, UK Vineyard Guide features:

  • Interactive regional discovery maps covering England and Wales
  • Comprehensive vineyard listings, with visitor information including tours, tastings, facilities and cellar door details
  • The Vineyard Companion – an AI-powered discovery tool designed to assist with visit planning and experience discovery as users explore the platform
  • Editorial content from established wine writers, highlighting regions, people and emerging stories shaping English & Welsh wine

Early vineyard supporters Ambriel (Sussex), Balfour Winery (Kent) and Wraxall Vineyard (Somerset) are among the first producers featured within launch‑phase editorial and regional coverage.

A sector wide platform designed for growth

UK Vineyard Guide was created to address a long‑acknowledged gap in UK wine tourism: fragmented information, inconsistent listings and the absence of a national, up‑to‑date resource that makes it easy for visitors to discover vineyards beyond their local area.

UK vineyard visits reached 1.5 million in 2024, and with the WineGB Tourism Report forecasting a further 20% increase over the next five years, consumer demand for accessible, clear and reliable information has never been stronger.

Ashley Saunders, Founder, UK Vineyard Guide, explained: “This is a significant moment for English and Welsh wine tourism.  The industry has grown rapidly, but visitors still struggle to find clear, up‑to‑date information about where to go and what’s available.  UK Vineyard Guide brings the sector together in one place – supporting producers across every region and helping more people discover the incredible vineyard experiences on their doorstep.”

Long‑standing champion of English and Welsh wine, Oz Clarke OBE commented: “At last – an idea whose time has come.  Yes please: a guide to the vineyards of England and Wales.  With more than 1,100 vineyards now spread across some of the most beautiful parts of the country, the question has been how to find them, how to reach them and what to expect when you arrive.  Wine tourism is only just getting going in the UK, but it’s vital to the future of English and Welsh wine – and the UK Vineyard Guide is here to make visiting the vines as easy and as pleasurable as it should be.”

Phase 2: June 2026

A second campaign wave will launch in mid‑June, aligned with English Wine Week, introducing enhanced itinerary planning, expanded event and experience discovery plus early brand collaboration features.  These updates are designed to support deeper travel planning and further connect vineyards with regional tourism activity.
